I finally started with my horse riding lessons again after like 3 years gap! Wohoo! I’m beyond happy. After such a long break I obviously forgot everything so I had to start from the scratch. We jumped to trot from walk in the first class, as I had some idea on handling the horse from before.
Trotting the horse turned into one hell of a workout. The lower part of my body is sore with all the practice as I write this post. But yeah, it was hell of fun. Trotting has always been a challenge and this time I’ve decided to perfect it once and for all. Do you guys enjoy riding? Do you have any tips on perfecting the trot? I would love to hear some personal opinions.
Moving onto today’s post. I made this pretty handy manicure pouch two days back for my small manicure stuff, which were always lying around, home-less. Another problem of living in a dorm. So, I decided to give them all a permanent home in this little pouch with pockets for the nail colors and a zipper pocket for the nail clippers and filers. I don’t have very many nail colors so this pouch seemed perfect fit to keep them all in one place.
I found the pattern at Noodlehead. It’s a free pattern and you can get it for yourself too.
If you forgot, this fabric is from a pillow cover that I got at a local store. It seemed so cute and attractive with the Hello Kitty on it that I just had to have it. I also made this Vera Bradley inspired Quilted Cosmetic Pouch from it. Some of the fabrics used were from old scrap piles. The best thing about this project is that you don’t need much fabric, you can use your leftover fabrics, co-ordinate and contrast (here’s (ad) a FREE mini class on choosing colors) play around and you’ll have your manicure pouch ready.
To summarize:
Difficulty level: Intermediate
Time: 2 Hours Max
Amount of fabric: Small scraps are enough
Pattern: Free pattern, can be found at Noodlehead
Tip: Learn to mix and match colors through free mini class at Craftsy. (Link above)
